Carson Calhoun - The 'Handstand-Up Comedian'

Handstands, Laughter, and Pushing Limits

A self-described “Handstand-Up Comedian,” Carson Calhoun combines his love for being upside-down with his natural ability to make people laugh. His yoga classes, workshops, and continuing education modules encourage students to push their limits and explore their edge, while maintaining a playful attitude. In every instance, you can be sure to break a sweat, learn something new, and leave with a smile on your face.

What is the main factor in you choosing your next travel destination(s)?

Definitely bucket-list destinations. I want to go EVERYWHERE, so if there's a city I haven't been to, I want to go there! Also any city with warm weather and beaches is going to be high up on my list. I could spend all day in the ocean (I'm in Costa Rica right now, and I've been spending so much time riding waves every day).

Any tips that help you incorporate travel into your lifestyle?

I travel full-time for work, going from city to city teaching yoga trainings and workshops. So I don't "incorporate" travel into my life, travel IS my life.

Any tips for keeping up with self-care/exercising while on the road?

Do it first thing in the morning. Whether it's a yoga session, a walk, or a workout, taking care of business early in the day lets me be free to enjoy the rest of the day. If I wait until the afternoon, I'm likely going to be low energy and lacking motivation to do the necessary work.

Any packing hacks?

My SUAVS, duh! I wear my Zilkers every single day: en route to yoga class, walking the streets, chilling on the beach, etc. Not having to pack multiple pairs of shoes makes my suitcase a lot lighter.

How do you wear/style your SUAVS?

With literally anything. They are the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn, so I don't take them off! They basically feel like comfy socks with extra protection on the bottom.
